Anti-Youth Crime Education
Youth Crime Prevention Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) offers education through the provision of our Anti-Youth Crime Programme. The aim of the programme is to highlight the dangers of serious youth crime involvement, the consequences that can lead to; hospitalisation, death and imprisonment and the alternative lifestyle options available.
We collaborate with various public, private & voluntary sector agencies such as; West Midlands Police & Ambulance, NHS, Criminologists, Army, Red Thread, Victims Parents, Ex Offenders, Colleges, Universities and Local Business Owners, who are also very keen to help identify & protect the most vulnerable families & individuals within the community. Youth Mentoring
Youth Crime Prevention Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) provides a Youth Mentoring Programme to assist schools with young people who are particularly disruptive to the curriculum. We specifically target young people who may display challenging behaviour and/or be consistently absent from school lessons.
Our aim is to influence the mindset of the young person by guiding and developing them in the right direction. We offer one-to-one or small group mentoring sessions to enable young people to receive the support they require to promote positive changes in behaviour and attitude for personal growth and development. Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) provides a FREE Youth Careers Programme which includes working alongside Colleges, Universities and Local Businesses who are looking to work in an outreach capacity to capture the attention of young people. Our aim is to support the school curriculum by providing additional educational & experiential learning opportunities to demonstrate to young people the options available to them to gain legitimate earnings in employment or business.

Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) runs a series of online sessions that include; open discussions, information sessions and panels with expert advisors. These events are centred around Family Support with a strong focus on youth crime, education and employment issues. We look into many factors that affect young people and aim to provide practical solutions to help improve the daily situation that families are facing. The platform will also inform families about the support services that are accessible to them within their local communities and provide contact information for follow-on support. Family Assessments
Family Support Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) carries out these assessments under the umbrella of the Family Support Service. We use a holistic approach to identify the factors that prevent economic growth within inner city households with children & young people aged 8-25 years. Family assessments are usually performed during a scheduled private consultation which can take place within the home, school, office or other agreed setting. We then work out a plan of action which may include collaborating with other relevant external family support agencies in an attempt to minimise or remove the restrictive barriers to prosperity. We work alongside staff within educational institutions to help improve communication, co-operation and trusting relationships between young people, home and school/college. Our aim is to promote strong and positive relationships by supporting all parties involved in order to minimise or eliminate friction caused by things such as; misunderstanding, misinterpretation and miscommunication. Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) works in partnership with schools, children centres and external agencies to provide health & well-being surgeries that focus on healthy lifestyle and habits. The aim of these sessions is to raise health awareness by promoting nutrition, physical exercise, mental wellbeing, healthy relationships & lifestyle choices. We also provide support in matters that impact health such as; finances, housing, education and employment.

Financial Literacy Training
Financial Education Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) works in partnership with external providers to deliver education and practical assistance to families around the subject of finances. PYP uses a variety of financial education strategies to help deter young people from entering into a life of crime by exposing them to legitimate ways of earning money and planning for a future of financial freedom.
PYP collaborates with public and private sector financial service providers to teach young people and families how to save and invest for profit & growth with a view towards generating an increased household income from earnings & investments. PYP works alongside statutory, private and voluntary sector agencies and businesses to provide young people, families and the wider community with information and opportunities to access education, employment, training and entrepreneurship.

A variety of topic areas are covered to help prepare young people for adult life, this includes; spending, budgeting, paying bills, credit cards, loans, secured/unsecured loans, debt avoidance/management, savings, investments, tax planning, charity donations and leaving a legacy. Youth Projects
Youth Crime Prevention Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) provides all year round projects for young people aged 8-25 years. The main aim of our projects is to inform and develop young people in the areas of Education, Employment, Training and Entrepreneurship. We partner with many agency providers from the public, private and voluntary sectors across the City and country. Our projects place great emphasis on youth crime prevention, personal development, health & well-being and team building. We use a combination of teaching approaches to accommodate the various learning styles, in order to reach the young people and get our messages across.
A variety of learning sessions are delivered throughout including; First Aid Training, Motivation, Confidence Building, Life Skills Training, Health & Lifestyle Training, Sporting Activities, Team Building Activities and Creative Arts etc. PYP projects usually take place during school holidays, unless otherwise requested, and are generally 5 days in length. Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) offer FREE themed networking events that centre around Education, Employment, Training and Entrepreneurship. We work in partnership with various organisations including; businesses, banks, colleges and universities, to deliver the support young people require for career development.

Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) provide seminars and conferences to offer information, support and guidance to young people, families and the wider community. These events are centred around reducing Child Poverty, Youth Crime & Financial Hardship, and are very motivating and inspiring. The audience are actively involved throughout and there are prizes to be won. We collaborate with many agencies to deliver these sessions including; West Midlands Police, Ambulance, National Health Service, Local Businesses etc.

Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) provides FREE protection planning information to parents and the wider community around Will Writing, Power of Attorney, Funeral Planning and Life Insurance. These are often areas that families avoid due to a general lack of knowledge and fear of the subject.
PYP takes the opportunity to provide families with the information they need in order for them to start thinking about 'getting their lives in order' so that when they are ready they can make an informed choice about what they think is best for them and their loved ones.

Workshops
Family Support Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) run a number of workshops that are targeted at parents and young people aged 8 - 25 years. These sessions are extremely popular and cover a range of topics such as; Basic Life Saving, Confidence Building, Business Start-up and Staying Safe.
Our workshops are run from various community venues across the City of Birmingham, this includes; schools, church halls, community centres & children centres. Workshops may take place during term-time and holiday seasons.

Parenting support falls under all three umbrella's: Family Support, Youth Crime Prevention and Financial Education, and is offered in a variety of ways including; Workshops, Parent Information Surgeries In Schools, Coffee Mornings, Online Events, Seminars and Conferences.

PYP also provides Anti-Crime Parenting Support which incorporates experts in the field such as; police, criminologists, counsellors etc; to identify warning signs, know the correct course of action to take & acknowledge how to access specialist community-based support agencies.

Focus Groups
Family Support Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) offers this FREE service because we believe that the only way to really make a positive impact is by listening to our key stakeholders. As well as being relevant and current, it is important that the services we provide remain youth and family-centred at all times. We therefore rely on the 'voices' of those who matter most to help to shape and mold the organisation. For this reason we utilise the knowledge & experience of our focus groups to not only inform our practice but also provide solutions to the problems that are affecting their daily; physical, mental, emotional and socio-economical well-being.

Bereavement Support Group
Family Support Service
Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) offers access to a FREE bereavement support group which provides a safe space for individuals to share their experiences. Attendees must be adults aged 25 years(+), and everyone who attends should have experienced the loss of a loved one, regardless as to how or when it occurred.
It is important to note that this is not a professional health specialist-led group, however, it is facilitated by those with 'lived experience.' The aim of the group is to give individuals the opportunity to express their feelings in the company of others who have also experienced loss.

Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP) is a change agent that intends to advocate for young people on a level that seeks to look beyond the implementation of projects and move towards improving systems. We plan to use evidence-based practice to champion changes in policy and legislation relating to Education, Employment and the Criminal Justice System, to enable young people to have a fair and equal opportunity to access the pathways leading to prosperity.
