CROWD FUNDING

Delivering outreach events is one of Positioning Youth To Prosper's (PYP) primary means of educating the community and promoting community cohesion. These activities allow us to partner with other family support agencies and local businesses to attract the attention of young people and their families, to inform them about Education, Employment, Training and Entrepreneurship. It also provides opportunities to address other areas such as, health & well-being and relationships.

The community evaluations of our events have been extremely positive by attendees who reported them to be very informative and providing great opportunities for networking and collaborations. Young people and parents  gain new information around academic study, sign up for training, enroll into voluntary work and embark on employment opportunities. With such fruitful and rewarding results, it is no wonder we like to run several of these types of events annually. However, without grant funding, these events can be quite costly ventures, which is why we have to turn to the community for support.

Support Group

Why PYP needs YOUR financial support....

PYP could do more, and we want to do more, but we are often restricted by internal and external constraints. For this reason, we are trying hard to generate income from the sources that are able to contribute at the level of assistance we require in order to help support the increasing number of families who have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and falling into the poverty trap and/or being affected by youth violence.

Whilst grant funding is available from public and voluntary sector agencies, competition is extremely high and the criteria for eligibility makes it even harder.

For example;

500 organisations from across the UK submit an application for the maximum payment of £50,000 from a £2 million pot. On the surface this sounds like a lot of money, but in real terms, if all the successful awardees received a £50,000 payment, that would work out to only 40 organisations or 8% of the 500 applicants. Alternatively, if the funder were to share the £2 million pot out equally so that all 500 applicants would receive a portion, the payment would amount to £4,000 each, which would equate to only 0.2% of the £2 million, which for most organisations, wouldn't go very far at all in terms of resources or service-user reach.

In order for PYP to continue running Family Outreach Activities we really need the community to actively support the work we do by financially contributing to the running costs whenever you see our announcements for help. This is where the power of social media and platforms such as 'Go Fund Me' become invaluable resources for not-for-profit organisations like PYP, in our quest to reach larger public audiences for financial support.

For this reason we ask that when you see our public requests for assistance circulating, you reach out and help us wherever you can by:
