Positioning Youth to Prosper (PYP) CIC. Ann Bailey Company Secretary & Family Support Manager

Ann Bailey

Family Support Manager & Company Secretary

Hi, I’m Ann and I have had the privilege of working with PYP since 2013 when it first began as a not-for-profit project. During that time I participated in administration duties, delivery of group activities and the practical, emotional and spiritual support of the young attendees.

I am now the Family Support Manager and appointed Company Secretary for Positioning Youth To Prosper (PYP). I have the responsibility of ensuring that PYP  complies with all its legal administrative responsibilities, corporate governance and   statutory requirements.

My professional background includes nearly 30 years of working within the NHS as a qualified Nurse & Midwife Practitioner. My role involved working with patients from a wide variety of social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds who required medical observation, intervention and preventative methods of care. I was privileged to work in one of the top NHS Trusts within the UK enabling me to provide care within a variety of clinical areas including; hospital wards, clinics, delivery suite and community settings.

As well as providing hands-on care to patients, I also had responsibility for maintaining contemporaneous record-keeping, managing teams, running departments, organising staff rotas, continuous professional development (CPD), mentoring student nurses/midwives and supervising junior doctors. Over the years I have experienced dealing with many aspects of health and social care, ranging from medical emergencies to carrying out family assessments and developing personal care plans.

I believe the family is the bedrock of society. So if the family is fragmented, society is fragmented. I am therefore strategically positioned in PYP to participate in the provision of family support services that help to keep the family together.

As PYP's Family Support Manager, I have the key responsibility of leading a team of dedicated workers, with a primary focus to ensure that they recognise the challenges that families & young people face, assess & identify their needs, offer practical support and refer or signpost them on to the appropriate external agencies where required.

It is my desire to help strengthen families and I believe that PYP is the ideal vehicle to enable this to happen.

Sonia Bailey

Company

Office Manager

Hi, I’m Sonia and I have provided administrative duties for PYP over the past 7 years, from when it started as a voluntary group in a local church hall back in the year 2013.

I’ve been married for over 36 years and have 4 children and 4 grandchildren, so I have a wealth of personal experience to bring to PYP. I am also a born again Christian and member of the large well known international Church of God of Prophecy, where I have held positions including; Children’s Teacher, Women’s Group Leader and Prayer Counsellor. As a result I have developed strong beliefs around demonstrating love and care for others at all times.

Professionally, I have over 25 years experience of working in office administration within various Government Departments in the UK. My day-to-day duties have involved; obtaining, keeping & maintaining accurate records, providing customer service, influencing and interviewing. However, I have also held lead responsibilities in areas such as; setting up an administrative team within the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) Fraud Department.

I have a strong passion for helping people who are disadvantaged and am very keen to help them reach their full potential. I have worked in establishments such as; local authority children’s homes where I have been privileged to help support the needs of children who are socially, intellectually, emotionally and financially challenged. I also have over a decade of experience of working within voluntary organisations within the West Midlands in the provision of summertime activities for children and young people and provided services for the elderly community. My roles in these positions have included; administration duties, provision of meals, personal care and counselling support.

Positioning Youth to Prosper (PYP) enables me to put into practice my desire to care and develop vulnerable members of the community and allow me to fulfil my commitment to always doing my best to support others.

PYP gives me the opportunity to enjoy what I see as a passion, and I will continue to do all I can to serve the community and fight for the cause until I see positive changes.
